MISSOULA, Mont. —
The state health department says there are two possible cases of acute flaccid myelitis in Montana.
AFM is a rare polio-like condition. Several cases were recently diagnosed in Minnesota.
State health officials emphasize nothing is confirmed, and tests by the Centers for Disease Control may come back negative. However, the department says two Gallatin County adults meet CDC criteria for more testing.
The last confirmed case of AFM in Montana was in 2015.
