Americans have a crucial choice to make this November, but it is not the standard red versus blue and conservative versus liberal argument that will play out at the ballot box as it always does. The events of the last two years, and particularly the last few weeks, require us to face a vastly more important question: “Do I want to live in a nation besieged by left wing political violence and mob rule, or a nation where we are all protected by the Constitution and the rule of law?”
While it is true that every partisan group and ideological movement has an extreme fringe, great trouble arises when the fanatical fringe conquers the center. Over the last few weeks, America has watched a radicalized Democratic Party advocate for a system where some people are presumed guilty and evidence is irrelevant. What began as a routine confirmation process for Brett Kavanaugh MORE suddenly morphed into a frenzy, where the principles of due process and presumption of innocence were mocked by Democratic Party leaders and their base, along with many in the media.
Today, it is now a mainstream position within the Democratic Party to assert that some people are guilty until they prove their innocence, and that the enraged mob is best suited to mete out justice, no matter if there is any evidence or not. If the mob comes for you, will you be one of the lucky ones who are presumed innocent?
Some prominent Democrats, from elected officials to candidates, as well as media personalities, have demonized political opponents as murderers and terrorists for decades. Now they have added “gang rapist” to their list of unfounded accusations against people with whom they disagree. Since fall of 2015, there have been more than 580 documented instances of violence or threats against Donald TrumpDonald John Trump MORE supporters and conservatives, some of which have barely been reported, if at all, by the mainstream media. Were you aware of that?
Included in that list is a Bernie Sanders MORE supporter shooting up a baseball field full of Republican members of Congress, nearly killing Representative Steve Scalise
MORE. Do you know the name of the shooter? If not it is because the media and the Democrats have buried that story. There are more recent instances on that list, such as a Minnesota public school teacher talking about killing Justice Kavanaugh, antifa blocking and taking over the roads and chasing an old man down the street in Portland, the wife of Senator Cory Gardner
Cory Scott Gardner MORE receiving a video of a beheading because he voted to confirm Kavanaugh, and Senator Susan Collins
MORE threatened with death and other vile actions because she voted to confirm Kavanaugh.
Unfortunately for all Americans, antifa and other violent groups now stand at the center of progressive liberal politics in America. Even worse, mainstream Democrats applaud, support, or quietly cede ground to these extremists. In case you are not sure who is part of antifa, they are the people who dress in black, cover their faces, smash windows, set cars on fire, carry weapons to their marches, beat people with clubs until they bleed, post personal information online like your address and where your kid goes to school, and your place of work if you disagree with their positions or tactics. They do this all in the name of “justice” as doled out by your friendly neighborhood mob.
As Senator Lindsey GrahamLindsey Olin Graham MORE stated so perfectly during the Supreme Court confirmation hearing, the Democrats want power so badly that they are willing to cede the rule of law to violence and mob rule. It is up to Americans who want to uphold the rights in the Constitution for all of us to make sure they do not get that power.
What is happening right now in the United States is frightening and dangerous. The only way to send a decisive message that Americans fully support the Constitution and the rule of law is to defeat the party that promotes mob rule. That means delivering a resounding defeat to Democrats this November. Furthermore, Americans must continue to send the Democrats the message that we reject the political violence they refuse to condemn, so we will continue to reject them until they stand up to the extremists who have taken over their party.
