Cleveland Browns coach Hue Jackson is worried. Now that his team has won a few games (two out of five with one tie), he’s concerned that all the trappings that come with winning two whole NFL games is going to go to his players’ heads.

“There are going to be a lot of people that want to come be on this wagon when the wagon gets rolling, and we’re going to circle the wagon. I know that because I didn’t see any of these people the last two years.
“I’m still the same guy. I still knew all of these people prior to this year. We’re not going to get caught up in any of that. Our players won’t, and that’s my message to them.”
Yes, after winning a grand total of two games, Hue Jackson wants to make sure none of his players will “get caught up in” the celebrities and bandwagon fans that are swarming this 2-2-1 team. Are we sure Hue’s not the one getting caught up?

What brought this on, besides Hue Jackson being Hue Jackson? Jackson’s close personal friend Snoop Dogg stopped by Browns practice on Thursday to surprise the team. Snoop isn’t actually a Browns fan (he’s a diehard fan of the rival Pittsburgh Steelers), but celebrities don’t usually visit terrible teams, so this is a big step up for the Browns.
Of course, it’s worth noting that the Browns are getting all this attention because they’ve played such futile football over the past few years. Fans don’t typically hop on a team’s bandwagon over a 2-2-1 record. The fans Jackson was talking about were probably in hibernation to avoid a team that literally won a single game over two entire NFL seasons. Now that these fans are no longer fearful of their team getting savagely stomped on by every single opponent, they’re actually coming to games. But Jackson is worried that all these fans showing up will inflate his players’ egos.
Jackson wants to keep his players firmly anchored to the ground. But it doesn’t seem like he shared his concern over bandwagon fans with Snoop, who encouraged all fans to come out and watch the Browns face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
