Sheriff asks for public's help with info on suspicious behavior, info on victims in Jayme Closs case

BARRON, Wis. - Officials investigating the disappearance of Jayme Closs and the murders of her parents are asking for the public's help.
The Barron County Sheriff's Department said Friday, five days after police discovered the , in their home in Barron, that investigators are looking for information about the victims. Officials are also asking for citizens to report any suspicious behavior that may help in the case.
The sheriff's office said it is looking for details from the public about anyone who may have been acting differently or whose behavior may have changed in the days since the killings.
"People may act differently shortly after committing a violent act," the sheriffs' department said. "You may have observed such behaviors and not realized it at the time."
A turned up nothing useful as investigators sought any items of evidentiary value. The sheriff's department said it has received more than 1,000 tips in the case so far.
Officials asked citizens to think back to earlier this week and let authorities know if they’ve noticed anyone who has had changes in their routine such as suddenly missing work, scheduled appointments or commitments or leaving town without explanation.
Changes in normal behavior may also be an indicator, police said. That could include changes in their usual consumption of alcohol or drugs, or a change in how they look that makes it difficult to identify them or their vehicle. They may also pay too much or too little attention to the progress of this investigation that seems out of the ordinary. They may try to find new information about the investigation, or they may quickly turn off the news and social media or try to redirect conversations about the victims or their families. Officials said they may be anxious, nervous or irritable. They may withdraw from normal activities.
Officials asked anyone who has spent time with members of the Closs family recently, or who has ever had a misunderstanding with them or knows someone who has, to call the tipline at 1-855-744-3879.
from Monday night, when Jayme went missing, were also released Friday, including that the call came from Denise Closs' cellphone.
Jayme is not a suspect in her parents' murders and investigators believe she's in danger, the sheriff's department has said.
An Amber Alert has been issued for Jayme Closs, 13, of Barron County in northwestern Wisconsin.
