
President TrumpDonald John Trump MORE declared a state of emergency in Alabama Friday to assist in the recovery efforts for Hurricane Michael.

Federal assistance for existing response efforts began Oct. 10 and will continue throughout the recovery process.
Michael made landfall in Florida Wednesday as a Category 4 storm, with sustained winds up to 155 miles per hour, according to the National Hurricane Center.
Trump had previously declared a state of emergency in Florida on Tuesday.
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) had put one in place in anticipation of the storm on Oct. 8.
Forecasters have called Michael the to strike the continental U.S. and have estimated damages up to $8 billion.
