Two adults found dead, girl missing in northern Wisconsin in possible murder, kidnapping

BARRON, Wis.—A 13-year-old girl is missing and considered endangered, and two adults were found dead in a home in Barron County in northwest Wisconsin early Monday morning, Oct. 15.

Authorities are searching for Jayme Closs, 13, who is described as 5 feet tall, 100 pounds, with green eyes and blond or strawberry hair. Anyone with information about her is asked to contact the Barron County Sheriff's Department at 715-537-3106.

The Sheriff's Department reported that it responded to a 911 call at about 1 a.m. Monday. Deputies found the two dead adults when they arrived on the scene, who they identified as Jayme's mother and father.

Jayme is not a suspect, said Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said during a Monday afternoon press conference. Authorities do not have a suspect nor do they know what took place yet at the house, but it involved gunshots, he said. No one made contact with a dispatcher during the 911 call and background noise was all that could be heard on the call, he said.
